It's always exciting when having had a busy period of work in the studio I am able to do a framing order. I have used these frames for some time as I think they are contemporary enough to look good in todays modern interiors whilst still working in more traditional settings. I also think the whitewashed finish compliments the chalky palette I tend to favour especially when painting seascapes.

I am awaiting a different style of frame for my new small 20x20cm canvases and will add to this post once they arrive. I'm trying a traditional St Ives moat frame which was favoured by the St Ives painters such as Ben Nicholson and very much looking forward to seeing how they turn out.

It's lovely to be back in the studio after an extended break, for personal reasons. A fresh start required some fresh paints and a new brand that I haven't used before 'Cobra'. Starting small, I've been working on a small series of studies 'Little Sketches' which has also included a slight change in technique and style. The medium's glossy texture lent itself beautifully to my experimentation and the new outcomes can be seen below, a series I-IV. These paintings are available for sale in 'Current Work'. Please contact me by email if you are interested in purchasing. You can also see these on my Artist Support Pledge page on my instagram account.
